Description Senior Consultant – Electrical (Electrical Engineer) Location: Sydney CBD (National travel required) Work Type: Full-time | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH) Join BGIS and Power a Smarter, Greener Future Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and building services? BGIS is seeking a Senior Consultant – Electrical based in Sydney CBD to provide expert advice across electrical infrastructure, solar PV systems, energy storage, and sustainable design solutions. This is a client-facing, hands-on technical role where you’ll work on impactful projects across healthcare, defence, education, and government sectors. Some national travel will be required to support site inspections and project delivery across BGIS’s diverse portfolio. Your Impact As a key member of our sustainability and engineering services team, you will: Lead and approve electrical design documentation, grid connection applications, and contractor installations. Conduct inspections, signoffs, and manage compliance checks for electrical and solar PV systems. Undertake audits and energy assessments for commercial and industrial buildings to identify savings and improve efficiency. Develop and oversee energy management plans and upgrade projects for a diverse portfolio of assets. Engage directly with clients to provide solutions, drive energy savings, and uncover new business opportunities. Ensure technical excellence, quality assurance, and compliance across all deliverables. What You’ll Bring Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent). Chartered status (CPEng) and NER registration. Professional affiliations and certifications (e.g., NABERS, Green Star, WELL AP) are highly desirable. Experience: 5 years in the building services sector (consultancy or contractor experience preferred). Solid understanding of the National Construction Code of Australia. Proven success in energy audits, asset condition assessments, and solar/renewable projects. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and lead in a multidisciplinary environment. Proficient in using AutoCAD to develop and modify electrical design and construction drawings. Why BGIS?
