The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join our Strategy, Reporting and Governance team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape governance practices that support strong decision-making. The Governance team sits in the Information Release, Privacy and Legal Operations (IRPLO) Branch. This team plays a critical role in supporting transparent, accountable and well-informed decision-making across the division. The team coordinates and delivers secretariat services for key governance forums, including the Appeals Litigation Oversight Committee (ALOC), Pre-ALOC and other governance forums. Working in a fast-paced and high-trust environment, the team ensures forums and committees run smoothly by managing meeting logistics, preparing high-quality documentation and tracking follow-up actions. This is a supportive and high-performing team that values professionalism, precision and partnership. The IRPLO Branch is responsible for providing operational support and uplifting through the management of all recruitment and procurement, learning and development, continuous improvement, strategy and reporting, legal operations, and communications and engagement activities. The Branch also manages the Agency's Freedom of Information (FOI), Participant Information Access (PIA), and Agency Privacy Incident Management functions. The key duties of the position include Where you can add value As the EL1 Assistant Director Governance, you will lead the Secretariat team responsible for supporting key governance forums across the division, including the Appeals Litigation Oversight Committee (ALOC), Pre-ALOC and other governance forums. The role ensures these committees run smoothly by overseeing meeting coordination, documentation and follow-up actions. Duties include: Lead and manage the secretariat function across governance forums and committees relating to reviews and integrity. Provide leadership and oversight to secretariat officers , setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement. Review and approve committee documentation including agendas, minutes, submissions and action registers. This will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with governance standards and executive-level requirements. Oversee the delivery of secretariat services for high-level governance forums, including the Appeals Litigation Oversight Committee (ALOC) and governance forums, ensuring timely and effective support. Manage quality assurance processes for all secretariat functions, including reviewing and editing documents to a high standard, ensuring alignment with approved templates and formats for senior executive audiences.
