The APVMA's Innovation section is seeking applications for Director Innovation to provide strategic oversight for the APVMA project office, as well as leading the continuous improvement function of the agency. Located in either Canberra ACT or regional Armidale NSW, you will gain experience in the Australian Public Service, have access to a variety of flexible working arrangements, and lead the APVMA's enhancement program. This role is a three-year non-ongoing appointment, with a merit pool being created for potential ongoing vacancies. The key duties of the position include The Director Innovation will lead a small team including project managers, seconded subject matter experts, and business analysts to: Identify and propose innovative solutions to system-wide and process issues to ensure the APVMA meets its strategic priorities Analyse and document business processes to ensure legislative compliance and identify opportunities to improve task efficiency Assess the business impact of business process changes in consultation with subject matter experts Lead change management initiatives Assist with the resolution of identified problems affecting the progress of major projects Produce a range of written artefacts to support executive decision making, document business processes, change management, and program management. Foster a positive culture within the team by confidently leading by example in displaying appropriate professional and inclusive behaviour, actively managing team members to continually develop their skills, engage with risk and demonstrate accountability.
