ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a Data Insights Analyst - Digital Product to join the AFL’s Digital Data Insights team, supporting the ongoing evolution of our digital platforms. In this role, you’ll be focused on uncovering behavioural insights across web and app platforms helping us understand what’s working, what’s not, and where the next opportunity lies. You’ll turn data into clear, actionable stories that shape decisions across content, product, and platform experiences. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Key Accountabilities: Analyse behavioural data across our digital platforms to surface trends, gaps and opportunities Track engagement with content, features and navigation flows to inform digital content and platform strategies Deliver regular dashboards, insights decks and reporting packs tailored to key stakeholders (product, content, commercial, executive) Conduct deep dives into audience behaviour including return visits, session duration, device paths, and cross-platform usage Identify and segment user groups to explore how different audiences engage with the ecosystem Monitor data quality across GA4, Firebase and GTM troubleshooting tagging and ensuring accurate data capture Build clear and compelling reports using tools such as Looker Studio to drive data informed decision making OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER 3 years’ experience in digital analytics or data insights roles Proficiency in SQL and digital analytics tools such as GA4, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel or Amplitude Familiarity with tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager (GTM) Strong skills in data visualisation using Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI Basic understanding of front-end structures like HTML, JavaScript, or CSS is a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to turn data into insight rich, stakeholder-ready narratives Sharp attention to detail, a natural curiosity for audience behaviour, and a desire to drive value through insights Bonus points: experience working with event driven analytics and real time data environments Thanks for reading this far!
