The Compliance Strategy and Planning Section is the central compliance coordination point for the Compliance and Enforcement Branch (CEB) with a wide breath of responsibilities including undertaking transitional work to enable the CEB to integrate into the EPA, develop compliance strategies for the department's environmental legislation in coordination with internal and external stakeholders and complete and publish Compliance Plans that ensures alignment with risk profile and priority and resource allocation. We provide secretarial services for senior environmental executive committees and coordinate parliamentary briefing packs as required. A big focus for the team is working on and implementing a range of major regulatory reform projects to ensure we are continuously improving. The key duties of the position include Undertake research tasks with very tight deadlines that focus on key compliance and enforcement work. Coordinate key projects that support the environmental compliance and reform agenda covering standard operating procedures, manuals, performance reporting, placemat, road maps and briefing material. Provide secretarial support for senior compliance committees. Coordinate senate estimates briefs on behalf of the CEB. Undertake reporting on a range of matters that cover the environmental compliance domain. Assist in the range of statutory and corporate reporting requirements including business planning thus ensuring alignment with the departmental corporate plan. Contribute to the business intelligence of the CEB in building and sustaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the establishment of a Program and Project management methodology to ensure adherence to best practice and making recommendations to ensure corrective action is taken in a timely way.
