We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic professional to join our , Childcare Service in Beveridge. Your mission is to deliver High Quality, nutritionally balanced menus which appeal to children. You will maintain a high level of health and safety standards in your purpose built and well-resourced kitchen. Your role includes: Complete preparation and clean-up of all meals, including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack Prepare cooked meals to meet all children’s needs including all special dietary requirements and allergies Providing a 4 week rotational, seasonal menu Creating menu in line with nutrition Australia guidelines Provide appropriate food for special occasions Food Safety Supervisor for the service Ensure excellent record keeping Ensure safe and hygienic preparation, handling and storage of food and drinks Follow and implement the Food Safety Program Manage all ordering and deliveries weekly Manage weekly orders within allocated budgets Be organised in your approach to your day and requirements Interact and engage with all children in a positive manner at all times Interact and engage with all staff in a positive manner at all times Support Educators and children to engage in cooking experiences as appropriate To supervise other kitchen staff, provide appropriate directions as required Can hold cooking classes with children of all ages Experience and Qualifications · Formal chef and or cook qualifications · Previous experience in child care/ aged care cooking (Class 1) or Experience in a commercial kitchen preparing food for large numbers and the capability to adjust practices to a Class 1 business · A Food Safety Certificate or Commercial Kitchen Certificate · A current Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to get before employment) · Hold a current recognised First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylactic training (preferred) If this sounds like a great opportunity for you please apply though Seek, Please make sure you include a cover letter and your resume.
