Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a dedicated Vocational Education and Training (VET) Teacher to bring industry expertise into the classroom and help shape the future of Australia’s creative talent. In this role, you’ll deliver practical, high-quality education that prepares students for the demands of the design industry. Working collaboratively with a team of educators, you’ll plan, deliver, assess, and enhance programs ranging from certificate to associate degree level. You’ll engage learners using current technologies and teaching methods, customising content to meet the diverse needs of students and industry clients. Whether teaching face-to-face, online, or in blended formats, you’ll create inclusive, supportive environments that foster student growth and confidence. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to teaching. Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients. Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, and develop high quality teaching and assessment materials. Builds constructive relationships with colleagues and generates ideas for improvements which includes demonstrating high level communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to identify own learning needs and obtain support for professional development to be able to perform as a VET practitioner of the 21st century. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring and student experience. Possess sound computer skills to email, access databases, MS Officer and or other relation Learning Management Systems. Current practical experience (currency) within the Graphic Design industry. Qualifications Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 Tertiary qualification in a related field including: Animation Film and TV Games and Animation Visual Effects Visual Arts Communications Vocational/Industry experience in Autodesk Maya 3D Animation Character design and animation If you have Vocational Experience in the field of Animation with a minimum four years’ experience and do not hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (but are prepared to undertake it), your application could still be considered.
