Calypso Specialist Settlements (Capital Markets) Sydney | Melbourne | Brisbane Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Calypso professional to join a Capital Markets technology team. This position requires strong expertise in Calypso configuration, development, and support with a focus on settlements and cash flow processing. The role covers the full post-trade lifecycle, ensuring smooth integration with downstream systems and close collaboration with Operations stakeholders. What You’ll Do Platform Configuration & Enhancements : Set up and optimise Calypso modules to support settlement and cash flow processes. Develop and tailor components such as workflows, scheduled tasks, BO messages/transfers, reporting tools, and engines. Lifecycle & Operations : Manage trade lifecycle events with emphasis on STP, identifying and resolving breaks across Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives. Integration : Work with SWIFT, SSI management, custodians, and other external interfaces to ensure accurate and timely settlements. Collaboration : Partner with Operations to deliver reconciliation, settlement, and reporting solutions. Your Skills & Background Calypso Knowledge : At least 5 years’ hands-on experience working with Calypso (v16 or higher). Proven track record in module configuration and API usage. Domain Expertise : Strong understanding of settlements, cash flows, and multi-asset trading (Equities, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives). Technical Skills : Java development (4 years, JDK 1.8) SQL skills across Oracle/Sybase Basic Unix knowledge Familiarity with version control (Git/SVN) Trading Process Insight : Clear understanding of settlement flows, reconciliations, and reporting obligations. Soft Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to work independently with confidence from day one. Excellent communicator with proven stakeholder engagement. Ways of Working : Experience delivering in Agile/DevOps environments. Preferred Extras Exposure to automation, test scripting, or similar tools. Track record of independently driving technical solutions.
