Location: Sunshine HospitalEmployment Type: Ongoing, Part-TimeSalary: YW11 - ANUM Year 1 About The Role The Surgical, Endoscopy and Anaesthesia Services division is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated leader to join our team on an ongoing, full-time basis. The Day Procedure Unit (DPU) at Sunshine Hospital provides efficient, effective, integrated care that is responsive to the needs of our culturally diverse patient group. DPU admits and provides care for patients during and after the following day procedures: gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, transoesophageal echocardiograms, elective cardioversion, flexible cystoscopy, minor plastic surgery procedures, and ECT therapy. DPU is also the admission area for all patients who are presenting for surgery/ procedures who will require a multi-day stay post operatively. The DPU nursing team participates in the endoscopy on call service. The Unit consists of two endoscopy / procedure rooms and associated admission, recovery, and discharge areas. You must be available on a Monday to Saturday rotating roster, including public holidays (no night duty). Position is for 60 hours per fortnight with 6 shifts per fortnight of 10 hours. About You Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalentRegistration as a Registered Nurse in Australia (AHPRA)Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse Must have recent experience in Endoscopy and/or Operating Suite with Scrub/Scout or Anaesthetic/PACUPossess excellent clinical skillsEffective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegationWell-developed written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care teamDemonstrated evidence of undertaking professional development activities Position Description About Western Health Western Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Victoria, caring for a vibrant, diverse and rapidly growing community of one million people in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
