Job Description: Role Title: Assistant in Nursing Role Type: Permanent Part time Location: McQuoin Ward, The Mater Hospital, North Sydney Salary: 28.19 – 30.94 AUD base per hour. About The Role: In this program you will be allocated to a clinical department (McQuoin Ward) where you will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and integrate into the nursing and multidisciplinary team. The McQuoin ward is a highly productive surgical ward with varied case mix including ENT Adults and Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Urology, Bariatrics, Plastic Surgery. The Assistant in Nursing provides support to the Nursing staff in the delivery of basic care in busy medical, surgical departments. This experience could assist you in securing a New Graduate Position in the future. About You: Enrolled in and undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing at 2nd year level. Enrolled in and undertaking a Diploma of Nursing and in at least 2nd stage. Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance. Complete fundamental clinical skills, to assist the RN/EN workforce. Flexible and available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster. Previous experience working in an acute healthcare area (desired) Why Work at St Vincent’s? One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals. Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway. The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres. Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
