The key duties of the position include About the Role The Assistant Director, Assessments will report to and work closely with the Director, Assessments to deliver operational outcomes for the NACC. The role includes managing a team to undertake assessments of referrals from Commonwealth agencies and members of the public that are alleging corrupt conduct pursuant to the NACC's legislative framework. Working under limited supervision, the Assistant Director will supervise staff to undertake high quality, timely assessments in line with internal processes and procedures. Recruiting, mentoring, and training this team is a critical part of the role, as well as maintaining a positive culture with staff who carry large caseloads. Additionally, the Assistant Director will contribute to the team's stakeholder engagement activities. Duties The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Director, Assessments. Key activities of this position include: Leading and managing an Assessment team of approximately 5 - 6 staff to deliver high quality assessments of corruption referrals, including overseeing their analysis, research, case management, record keeping and report writing. Providing oversight and direction to the team in developing accurate and evidence-based recommendations for Director Assessments and Senior Executive regarding the most appropriate action to be taken in relation to allegations of corrupt conduct, consistent with the National Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2022 (the Act). Establishing and maintaining high quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes, facilitate cooperation and communicate decisions. Identifying and contributing to addressing system, performance, and cultural issues to strengthen the Assessments Section. Being an active member of the NACC EL team by contributing to strategic initiatives specific to business areas, the branch more broadly, as well as contributing to agency-wide corporate initiatives. The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC's positive workplace culture.
