About the Team The Design, Internal Communications and Intranet section leads delivery of a range of communications and design activities in support of the Commission's dynamic internal communication strategy, the governance of the Commission's intranet and the design and production of all Commission branded materials for internal and external publication. About the Roles Assistant Director - Brand, Design and Production The Assistant Director contributes to the delivery of strategic and BaU communications support across the Commission, leading a team of graphic design, digital video and production support staff. Working within a team of communications professionals, you will be responsible for the development, delivery and quality of digital and print products, including multimedia publishing, design and production services for diverse audiences and products for First Nations' Australians and culturally and linguistically diverse audiences. As the custodian of the Commission's brand guidelines, this position manages the Commission's digital brand asset library and has oversight of external suppliers for key printing, warehousing and design agency contracts. Assistant Director - Intranet The Assistant Director position will contribute to the delivery of strategic and BaU communications support across the Commission, with a dedicated focus on managing the SharePoint intranet sites, strategy, governance model and continuous improvement roadmap. Working within a team of communications professionals, you will be responsible for the quality of the intranet and associated materials to support a Commission-wide working group of content authors and owners. As champion of human-centred design and custodian of the intranet, this role has responsibility for ensuring the intranet provides a positive, consistent and accessible experience, to ensure the intranet remains relevant and fit-for-purpose for Commission staff The key duties of the position include Assistant Director - Brand, Design and Production Leadership: Manage and mentor a team, providing clear and consistent communication about objectives, priorities, tasks and feedback for improvement. Setting behavioural standards and fostering a collaborative culture that encourages creativity and professional development. Communications and content: Oversee the end-to-end production process (including approvals and quality assurance) of a range of products for internal and external audiences, ensuring effective branding and consistent messaging. This includes translating complex, technical information into engaging products and visuals, adopting a user-centred approach. Planning and monitoring: Manage briefs, budgets and timelines. Contribute to communications planning and reporting, including the ongoing review of feedback, data, progress and priorities. Reporting: Collate, record and report on design and production activities, providing both qualitative and quantitative information to contribute to continuous improvement. Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback. Positive working relationships: Develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally. Contribute to overall team performance: Actively contribute to the strategic development and implementation of the Commission's communications, engagement and education programs and team culture. Assistant Director - Intranet Leadership: Manage and mentor a team member, providing clear and consistent communication about objectives, priorities, tasks and feedback for improvement. Setting behavioural standards and fostering a collaborative culture that encourages creativity and professional development. Communications and content: Oversee the quality of the intranet's content, structure and functionality to ensure a positive experience for staff, with up-to-date information that is easy to find, easy to understand and brand compliant. Ongoing development of key materials to support the intranet strategy and authors, including standards, guidelines, training and coaching to ensure best practices are followed, including policy, SharePoint and other technical guidance. Planning and monitoring: Manage intranet processes, tools, budgets, vendors and timelines. Contribute to communications planning and reporting, including task tracking, evaluation of date and understanding of wider strategic priorities to guide the continuous improvement roadmap for the intranet. Reporting: Set and track KPIs and metrics to promote intranet adoption. Collate, record and report on intranet feedback, usage data and search trends, to incorporate both qualitative and quantitative insights to contribute to continuous improvement.
