The key duties of the position include This position sits within the Business Services Team, part of the Corporate Branch of the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA). Operating under limited direction from the CIO and in collaboration with the Deputy CIO, the Assistant Director, IT Infrastructure leads a small team of ICT staff and is accountable for monitoring, planning, and managing the physical, human, and financial resources required to support the development and maintenance of the agency's ICT environment. This role also functions as the IT Manager for the DTA's Sydney office, with shared responsibilities in office and property management. It involves coordinating IT and property related matters, including vendor engagement to deliver effective solutions. Please note: This role may require interstate travel from time to time. Key duties: Lead and manage a team delivering Level 2 Help Desk support, hardware provisioning, network configuration, mobile device management, and mobile office solutions within a Microsoft 365 operating environment. Oversee vendor relationships for outsourced Level 3 support, ensuring service quality and alignment with agency needs. Coordinate ICT-related procurement, finance, and system integration activities across multiple internal teams to support timely project delivery. Administer and maintain the agency's Exchange environment in partnership with the Secure Email provider. Support infrastructure development for pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives using Azure and Microsoft tools. Collaborate with vendors to enhance the agency's standard operating environment, including desktop, network, internet, and printing infrastructure. Manage and maintain the agency's Azure cloud environment in conjunction with other team members. Implement and maintain IT systems that safeguard agency assets against internal and external cybersecurity threats. Provide high-level analysis and strategic advice on infrastructure platforms to ensure high availability and resilience. Ensure endpoint configurations align with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) blueprint and Essential Eight maturity model. Provide leadership, support, and training to infrastructure team members and broader DTA staff. Manage ICT projects and procurement activities as required. Engage effectively with key stakeholders, applying knowledge of Australian Government cybersecurity policies and standards and a focus on Essential 8 maturity. Act as a senior member of the Cyber Infrastructure team, contributing to the enhancement of DTA's operational infrastructure under the general guidance of the Deputy CIO.
