The Fair Work Commission (Commission) aims to be at the forefront of contemporary tribunal service delivery in Australia. The Assistant Director, Agreements supports the Commission's agreement approval process through efficient case management, the provision of accurate and timely advice to Members, and education and engagement to increase compliance. The Agreements team delivers services to both internal and external stakeholders in relation to agreement-related and collective agreement matters, including applications under ss.185, 210, 222, 225 and s536(MR) of the Fair Work Act, by: assessing application material and agreements lodged for compliance with statutory requirements supporting the Agreements Practice Leader in the management of cases engaging with employers and employee organisations about the agreement making process and encouraging proactive agreement making, and ensuring key performance indicators and service level standards are adhered to. Under broad direction, the Assistant Director will contribute to the production of high-quality advice and case management support for relevant matters. The Assistant Director will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of workplace relations matters relevant to the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), in particular in relation to agreement-related applications, provide comprehensive advice on complex matters, and engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation. The key duties of the position include Manage the enterprise agreement triage and collective agreement processes ensuring the provision of quality, timely advice to Members on compliance with statutory requirements and the collection of agreements-related data for internal analysis and/or published reports. Provide subject matter expertise, advice and guidance to Members, team members and external clients in relation to all aspects of the enterprise agreement-related approval and collective agreement processes. Contribute to the development of appropriate team procedures in conjunction with Members, oversee, prepare and review reports, briefs, and other written material, including research on complex matters, and advise on findings. Build team capabilities by providing leadership to staff in the team, including developing, coaching and mentoring staff and supporting performance. Facilitate and contribute to innovative improvement strategies to maximise the benefits of change, including the identification of opportunities to improve the efficiency of team practices and processes and promote digital innovation, in line with the Commission's strategic objectives. Support, establish and maintain strong relationships to drive consultation, performance feedback and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance service quality, accessibility and responsiveness for the team, Tribunal Support Branch and organisation. Coordinate a targeted engagement program to improve understanding of the Fair Work Act legislative framework, including the development of tailored information resources for parties to agreement-related matters. Identify and draw on contemporary public sector thinking, research and emerging technology, to improve compliance in agreement approval applications and where required, other functions of the Commission. Undertake other duties as directed by the Director, Agreements and/or the Executive Director, Tribunal Support.
