JOB PROFILE ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTSPERSON TECLIGHTS have an ambitious plan to enter the Australian building market to construct cost efficient and quick assembly homes which are bound to be a boon for the low and middle class population. It is an unique method of hybrid development design with potential to become an industry standard in the future for small homes construction. To help build this business we are looing for an Architectural Draftsperson with additional skills of evaluation of the drawings for improvements as may be warranted. TITLE: ARCHITECTURAL DRAFT PERSON DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is expected to be proficient in Autocad , STAAD or similar software with at least 5 years experience in absorbing client needs and converting into a productionable drawing in consultation and under the supervision of the qualified Structural Engineers and Architects . The candidate should also possess adequate knowledge of rendering software and be able to offer full service design of the elevation of the buildings designed. He or she should be able to explain the features of the drawings with the client and understand the changes and additional needs and incorporate in the drawings, without compromising the structural and architectural features of the building. He or she should be able to arrive at the bill of quantities of the building and prepare the framework for receiving quotes by segregating the specific tasks covered in the document. He or she should be able to prepare the working drawings in consultation with the Engineers and Architect and be able to explain its complexities to the building contractor and ensure compliance all through the life of the building construction. He or she should be able to visit the site of construction and evaluate the conformity of the actual construction with the drawings and take corrective steps in case of deviations. Where it is of serious nature, convene a meeting of all concerned and manage the variance. Being a small company in size, the incumbent is expected to follow up with the contractor for progress and adherence to the contract period of completion. For this purpose he or she will convene periodic site meetings and prepare minutes and follow up on compliance to the agreed minutes. Being a small company, the incumbent will also keep and maintain data of production times for each part of the production, to be able to assess and compare for future production runs. He or she will also check the bills received from the contractors and ensure that it is in conformity with the agreed development contract. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Typically the candidate will be a qualified Architect with adequate exposure to software products such as STAAD , Autocad etc experienced in home designs RELEVANT EXPERIENCE The candidate should have at least 5 years experience in similar assignment abroad SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENT Being a small sized organization the candidate is also expected to prepare the Bill of Quantities and be able to discuss the details with the actual builders and be able to answer queries throughout the course of construction of the building. SUMMARY In short we are looking for a committed candidate with primary role as the Architectural Draftsman but be able to assist all the players in the construction process with respect to the details of the drawings and its features. REMUNERATION The company pays a salary between Au$ 75,000 to Au$ 90,000 depending upon the background and the capability profile of the candidate .
