The Applications Test Lead will work within the Enterprise Test Capability to manage delivery of testing services for Applications within the Data & Digital Group (DDG), Customer Services Group (CSG) and Business Services Group (BSG) within the Bureau. This would include but not limited to working within a multidisciplinary team of Business Analysts, Program Architects, Project Managers, Program Managers, and other Business Stakeholders. This role is required to provide Test Management that shall contribute to the Bureau objectives of improved Security, Stability and Resilience across the Bureau's technology landscape. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Work in a matrix organisation with ability to meet objectives of Enterprise Test Capability. Create comprehensive test strategies that outline the approach to testing applications, including objectives, scope, test levels, techniques, and resources required which is aligned to the Enterprise Test Capability Prepare detailed test plans that specify test objectives, schedules, deliverables, test environment setups, and resource allocations. Delivery responsibility will span across various levels of testing including - system test, integration, performance/non-functional, security, UAT, BVT and Post Deployment. Supervise the execution of test cases, ensuring the process follows the test plan and addressing issues promptly. Monitor testing progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders and testing leadership. Where demand and resourcing require, you may also be expected to perform test preparation and execution. Organise, coordinate, and negotiate outcomes with the appropriate participants to resolve any Issues or Defects that are impacting and blocking Test Delivery. Consolidate and analyse test findings, preparing comprehensive reports that highlight test progress (i.e. Planned vs Actual), defects, their severity, as well as highlighting key Blockers, Issues, or Defects impacting Test Delivery to: Delivery Leadership Team Program/Project Stakeholders Testing Capability Work closely with multiple parties both internal and external to the Bureau to unblock Test Delivery, including: Software Delivery Partners Bureau Operations and Business Teams Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor the progress of the test team (functional, automation, performance, security etc). Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance their skills and productivity to deliver testing services. Provide strategic direction in the selection, implementation, and evolution of the Bureau test automation framework to enhance efficiency, scalability, and test coverage across projects. Work closely with other Test Leads and Managers to ensure data integrity is maintained for all metrics that are used to inform Leadership on Test Delivery status. Assist with developing a continuous improvement culture and actively look for and participate in opportunities to improve testing and test tooling - i.e. automation, AI-driven testing, and continuous integration. Ensure that all testing activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly those relevant to meteorological data and services.
