The Opportunity We are seeking an Analyst, Technology Security to help uplift and strengthen capabilities – bringing expertise, initiative and a partnership mindset to our dynamic team. Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in protecting our data, systems, and services—supporting both day-to-day operations and future-focused security projects. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Technology and across the Agency to ensure best-practice, fit-for-purpose security controls safeguard our business and investment objectives. The position is offered on a full-time basis in Melbourne. The Future Fund operates a hybrid work model, with employees typically combining remote and in-office work to support flexibility, collaboration, and high performance, in line with organisational needs. Employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days/week in the office, with Tuesday and Wednesday being anchor days. Key Responsibilities As an Analyst in our Technology Security team, you will be responsible for: Leading daily and weekly security checks across on-premises and cloud environments Monitoring, analysing, and responding to security events and incidents Maintaining and improving documentation for security controls Supporting SIEM/logging solutions and enhancing threat detection rules Assisting with endpoint protection, patch management, identity security, and regular threat hunting Participating in security risk assessments and internal reviews Tracking and reporting on security trends, metrics, and incidents Supporting key technology and security uplift initiatives About You Candidates for the position of Analyst, Technology Security should be a qualified security professional with hands-on experience in technical security operations, ideally holding current security certifications (such as Security). Key technical skills include a sound understanding of networking (TCP/IP), Windows operating environments, security incident and event management (SIEM), vulnerability assessment, endpoint protection, and cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS). Familiarity with monitoring and analysing security events, supporting SIEM/logging solutions, identity management from a role-based perspective, patch management, and maintaining relevant documentation are essential. The ability to track trends in the threat landscape, assist with internal assessments, align with regulatory frameworks (ISM, ISO27001), and contribute to security strategy and uplift projects is also important. The role requires credibility, professionalism, and personal accountability, as well as a risk-conscious, analytical, and problem-solving mindset. Successful candidates should be self-starters who can navigate complexity and ambiguity, engaging others with a consultative approach focused on high-quality outcomes. The ability to work collaboratively with technology and business experts, communicate effectively, and remain proactive in monitoring, reporting, and responding to security issues is crucial. A passion for continual learning and improvement, along with the ability to deliver outcomes aligned to the Agency’s objectives, rounds out the ideal profile.
