The key duties of the position include The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is seeking talented people with various skills and experience who are interested in temporary (non-ongoing) work opportunities. Data Analysts The AIHW is always seeking talented and enthusiastic Data Analysts to provide data analysis and technical writing support to units across the organisation. As a Data Analyst, you require an understanding of statistical and information work in a range of subject areas. You will have well-developed skills in statistical work and the ability to manipulate and interrogate databases using a range of software (including, but not limited to R, Python, and SAS). These positions also require strong oral and written communication skills, and very good organisational skills. We encourage applicants from a wide range of skills and disciplines. This may include (but is not limited to) those with qualifications or relevant work experience in statistics, epidemiology, economics, demography, information technology and data science, health sciences, social sciences, predictive modelling or geospatial/GIS (geographic information system) mapping. The level at which these roles will be filled will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidates. Project Officer/Managers The AIHW is seeking experienced Project Managers and Project Officers to support the delivery of our institute-wide statistical and data initiatives. In these roles, you will contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of key projects. Your ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, will be essential to your success. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in coordinating health and data related projects. Other roles The Temporary Register is also used to fill other roles within the institute. These include executive assistants, administrative or project support roles, and corporate support roles such as in Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, or Media, Publications and Web.
