We are looking for a capable and driven AI Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to the development of practical, AI-enabled systems and workflows that drive efficiency and innovation across the company. About the Role As an AI Engineering Intern at INCYT, you'll collaborate with engineering and product teams to research, build, and deploy AI-powered workflows and automation tools. You’ll work on a wide range of initiatives—from internal productivity agents to department-level tools—applying AI thoughtfully to real problems. Key responsibilities include: Designing and developing intelligent automation flows across teams and departments Integrating modern AI frameworks and tools (e.g. LLMs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks) Building APIs, microservices, and internal tools that deliver AI-enabled functionality Developing and managing structured data pipelines for model input and analytics Evaluating and prototyping new AI technologies to support product and operations teams Contributing to testing, documentation, and deployment of AI systems What We’re Looking For We’re seeking someone with strong fundamentals, technical curiosity, and a practical mindset. To be eligible, you must: Be currently in your 3rd or 4th year of study, or have completed a relevant degree within the last 12 months Be studying (or have studied) Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, or a related discipline Hold valid Australian work rights and be able to work full-time during the internship period Preferred skills: Proficiency in Python, particularly for automation, scripting, or ML prototyping Exposure to AI tools and APIs (e.g. OpenAI, LangChain, Pinecone, vector search) Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Vercel) and Git-based development workflows Understanding of data transformation and pipeline management Ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes Clear communication and documentation skills Internship Details Duration : 3 months, full-time Location : INCYT HQ – Macquarie Park, Sydney Structure : On-site internship with direct mentorship Extension : May be extended based on performance and business needs Work rights : Australian work rights required for the full internship period Why Join INCYT?
