The Administrative Review & Governance team is responsible for the following functions: Coordinating the process for compliance by the NDIS Commission with its legislative obligations. Processing requests for NDIS Commission documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth). Co-ordinating internal reviews of decisions made by the NDIS Commission under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (Cth) (NDIS Act). Managing the NDIS Commission's privacy function, including handling privacy inquiries, privacy complaints and requests for access to and correction of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth); and Building capability across the organisation, including providing education to Commission staff. The key duties of the position include The Administrative Review Officer is responsible for assisting the Internal Integrity Unit in effectively implementing the NDIS Commission's legislative obligations and functions in one or more of the following areas: Internal Review- Responsibilities Drafting administrative decisions, brief delegates and co-ordinate responses relating to sensitive matters. Co-ordinating and gathering information relating to matters and monitoring compliance with statutory and internal timeframes. Using appropriate tools (including the Microsoft Office suite) and templates to aid the processing of and report on matters against tight deadlines. Supporting the Assistant Directors and the Director with other tasks, as needed. FOI- Responsibilities Processing and drafting FOI decisions, including routine and sensitive access requests, and ensuring all matters are recorded and closed correctly. Effectively engaging with FOI applicants, other Commonwealth and State agencies and third parties in formal consultation processes. Assisting senior staff and the Assistant Director in developing and maintaining internal FOI reference materials including FOI templates and other reporting functions. Privacy- Responsibilities Assessing and responding to privacy/data breaches and privacy complaints, including liaising with affected individuals. Assisting with the evaluation and monitoring data handling practices, privacy related policies, procedures and guidelines to identify gaps and non-compliance with privacy reforms. Supporting the integration of privacy reforms across all areas of the NDIS Commission. Contributing to privacy training and awareness programs to educate employees about privacy requirements, data protection and their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding personal and sensitive information held by the NDIS Commission.
