Description About the Role We are seeking a Casual Container/Welder Repairer to join our team in Burnie, Tasmania. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with welding experience (trade-qualified preferred but not essential) who enjoys practical, high-precision work in an operational workshop environment. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining transport and shipping equipment, undertaking fabrication tasks, and supporting general workshop and yard work as required. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Carry out repairs and maintenance on shipping containers and transport equipment. Perform MIG welding, oxy cutting, and general fabrication work. Safely use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment. Follow all instructions and complete work within set timeframes. Accurately complete timesheets and job sheets. Identify and report damaged equipment, hazards, or faults. Participate in toolbox meetings and follow all OH&S requirements. Support general yard or workshop duties as needed. Skills And Experiences Essential Skills & Experience Welding experience — MIG welding competency required. Understanding of workshop practices and safe work procedures. Ability to use oxy/acetylene equipment and general power tools. Awareness of dangerous goods handling (training provided if needed). Strong service mindset when supporting internal and external stakeholders. Valid C-Class driver’s licence. About You Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A reliable team player with a willingness to learn. Safety-minded, proactive, and able to work independently when required. Minimum Year 10 education (Year 12 preferred).
