As a VM Creative Specialist , you will be responsible for visual storytelling throughout the David Jones store network. The role will bring campaigns to life in 3D, creating inspiring window scenes, engaging instore displays and memorable experiences. Working with the Head of VM, Creative & Innovation, the role will interpret the vision and play a creative key leadership role to develop campaigns aesthetically, creating a rich visual language for campaigns throughout the calendar year and bring them to fruition with our production partners. Building on the brand’s strong DNA, this role will create original displays that inspire with innovation and customer-centricity at the core. The role also plays a key part in supporting brand partners in facilitating installations of window and instore displays that align to the standard of our brand. Key Responsibilities include Conceptualise, design and execute creative story telling focussing on windows and the in-store environment with consideration to all creative applications for seasonal campaigns Develop timelines and critical paths and align stakeholders and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard Work with the Graphic Design Manager to translate verbal ideas into visual concepts, from moodboards through to design development and refinement Lead a team of creatives by sharing a clear vision and assigning tasks Creating customer experiences that are memorable and capture the essence of the campaign Show an understanding of luxury style and its integration into campaigns and the store environment. A keen eye for emerging trends with a strong understanding of DJs aesthetics Work collaboratively with Merchandise and Merchandising teams to ensure one singular visual message is carried out fluidly between all store tiers Partner with Graphic Design Manager to align all 3D and graphics Work closely with Marketing and agencies to develop and create concepts that are consistent within store & digital initiates Hold accountability for all 3D creative work, to ensure all deliverables are executed to a high standard Develop and evolve Christmas trim shops in all stores Intelligent problem solving through creativity and innovation Work with and interpret the seasonal direction set by the creative agency and Head of VM Creative Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Relevant tertiary qualifications, Graphic Design degree, Visual Merchandising, Creative or similar Strong experience in a Creative role working in 3D High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Good knowledge of Sketch-up or similar 3D applications Accuracy and strong attention to detail Exceptional organisational and time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time Proactive approach to problem solving on all projects Have experience and ability to conceptualise designs and work autonomously from initial stages through to production Willingness to learn, display initiative and take on new responsibilities Ability to focus on continuous process improvement Ability to mentor and guide more junior staff members when necessary
