This is a great chance for suitably qualified linesmen to work in the Hunter region — no long FIFO travel required — and to contribute locally while working on major transmission overhead infrastructure. The role As a Transmission Linesman (Overhead), you will be responsible for: Construction, upgrade and maintenance of overhead high‑voltage transmission lines within the HCC REZ project footprint (poles, towers, conductors, insulators, earthwire/optical ground wire) Interpreting and working from technical drawings and installation plans in accordance with industry standards Executing safe working at heights, rigging, climbing and use of relevant specialised equipment (EWP, pole/climbing gear) Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with WHS, network owner standards, and environmental requirements Assisting with commissioning, inspection and fault‑finding of transmission line assets Working collaboratively with crew members, subcontractors, supervisors and site stakeholders What we’re looking for To be considered you should have: A recognised trade qualification or relevant experience in transmission overhead lines work (e.g., Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead, or equivalent) Demonstrated hands‑on experience working on overhead transmission lines (ideally above 66 kV or 132 kV) – conductor stringing, sagging, tower work, climbing, etc. Current White Card (Construction Induction) and relevant licences (e.g., HR/HC driver’s licence, EWP, dogging/rigging) Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varied weather, at heights, and potentially in remote/clear rural locations Strong commitment to safety, quality of workmanship, and teamwork Local residency or strong willingness to be based in the Hunter region What we offer A meaningful long‑term role on a major green‑field transmission infrastructure project delivering high renewable‑capacity outcomes for NSW Competitive remuneration and allowances for specialist transmission lines work A local‑based role with minimal relocation required for suitable candidates from the Hunter, Central Coast or surrounding region Structured induction and support within a professional infrastructure contractor committed to safety and development Opportunity to grow your career within GenusPlus and engage future transmission/distribution opportunities across Australia How to apply Please submit your application with: A current resume outlining your relevant trade qualifications and transmission lines experience A short cover letter telling us: Your local connection to the Hunter / Central Coast region (or willingness to base locally) Why you are drawn to working on the HCC REZ transmission project Any standout transmission overhead line projects you have worked on Equal Opportunity & Local Talent Commitment We welcome applications from candidates who live in the Hunter region, Central Coast or surrounding NSW areas.
