The Director of Emergency Medicine will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership to the Emergency Department. This position oversees medical staff within the department and ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Working collaboratively with nursing, allied health, and administrative leaders, the Director will drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, communication, and culture. The role also includes fostering strong relationships with other clinical services, primary care providers, NSW Ambulance, and health service executives to enhance patient flow and care coordination. A 0.5 FTE clinical component is available for a FACEM (Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine) , allowing for combined clinical and leadership responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Provide expert clinical leadership and medical oversight within the Emergency Department. Lead the development and implementation of Models of Care and best practice standards. Oversee departmental staff performance, education, and professional development. Collaborate across disciplines to improve systems, workflow, and patient outcomes.
