About the opportunity AUSTRAC, Australia's financial intelligence agency and anti-money laundering and terrorism financing regulator, is undergoing a significant transformation to enhance its role in combating money laundering and terrorism financing. AUSTRAC has entered an exciting phase of growth and maturity, driven by the implementation of critical AML/CTF legislative reforms. We are driving several initiatives to support our evolving needs and to continue driving our mission of fighting financial crime. The Regulatory Strategy and Implementation team support the capability and outcomes of the Regulation Division through strategy, governance, business process and regulatory tradecraft. The Regulatory Governance team is helping lead a significant uplift in Regulation Division business process maturity. Experience - Experience working in regulatory environments and settings, in Project management and general governance or business analyst/process design based roles will be highly regarded. The key duties of the position include The Specialist under direction from the Manager, Regulatory Governance, is accountable for: Undertaking detailed business process analysis to identify inefficiencies, improve operational practices, and support decision-making aligned with AUSTRAC's Regulatory Strategy and Regulatory Operating Model. Preparation of information packs, quick reference guides, presentations and reports for a range of audiences Assisting in the preparation of process mapping from current to future state, focusing on continuous improvements Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather business insights, document requirements, and support the design and implementation of process improvements. Applying a new business process governance framework to embed best practice and identify adjustments that are needed to make the framework 'best fit' for Regulation Division needs. Assessing and managing risks associated with process changes and workflow improvements. Monitoring and reporting on the success of process changes using relevant metrics and data. Supporting stakeholder engagement and coordination; tracking and reporting to the Regulatory Committee progress of business process uplift activities. Where necessary, assisting with the broader work of the Regulatory Governance team which may include administration and coordination of Regulatory Committee processes, development of standard operating procedures, and general work on Regulation Division governance and assurance projects.
