Our Client Our Client is a trusted name in the design, supply, and maintenance of industrial and commercial pumping systems. Based in the Hunter Maitland region, they service clients across NSW in mining, water treatment, construction, manufacturing, and heavy industry. Known for their technical precision, reliability, and professionalism, they are now seeking an experienced Service Manager to take ownership of their service operations. Our client is expanding its operational capability, so this is a great opportunity to help continue building on the company’s strong reputation for both quality and safety. The Role This hands on leadership role will see you coordinating all aspects of service operations including scheduling, quoting, resource allocation, and quality assurance. You will manage a skilled technical team, ensure jobs are completed to engineering best practice, whilst maintain strong communication between the workshop, site, and office. You will also manage the assignment of equipment within the workshop whilst ensuring all parts required are managed efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical trade or engineering background, solid experience with pumps or water systems, and the organisational drive to keep projects running smoothly from start to finish. Responsibilities Reporting to the Managing Director, your core focus will be across: Manage daily scheduling and resource allocation across workshop and site operations Prepare accurate quotations and oversee parts procurement Lead a team of technicians, ensuring work is completed to the highest safety and engineering standards Conduct risk assessments, promote safe work practices, and reinforce PPE compliance Monitor job progress, documentation, and reporting accuracy Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain strong communication Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement Requirements To be considered for the role, you must have: Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent engineering qualification Strong understanding of pumps, mechanical systems, and water industry equipment Demonstrated experience managing service operations or technical teams Proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple projects under pressure Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills Current Driver’s Licence Forklift and Confined Space certifications Be happy to travel and stay overnight whilst working on remote projects If you are an experienced Service Manager or Senior Technician who thrives in a structured, safety-focused environment and this role sounds like you, please apply now or feel free to reach out to Huw directly via hthomas@morganconsulting.com.au for a confidential chat.
