Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Operations Location: Onsite / Hybrid - Maquarie Park Salary - $150-170K Super Bonus A leading organisation in the digital communications and services sector is seeking an Operations Lead to join a high-performing Rapid Response Team. This team works at the front line of major incidents and high-pressure production environments, ensuring critical digital services remain stable, resilient and available. This role is suited to someone who thrives in complex technical environments, can stay calm under pressure, and enjoys solving hard problems at speed. You will be the escalation point during service interruptions, working closely with engineers, architects and business leaders to diagnose issues, restore services and drive permanent fixes that prevent recurrence. What you'll do Lead incident response efforts to quickly diagnose, troubleshoot and restore critical digital services during major outages. Coordinate across infrastructure, applications and network teams to resolve complex production issues. Work within a Command Centre style environment where rapid decision-making and clear communication are essential. Identify system weaknesses and drive permanent corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee platform changes and upgrades to maintain reliability and service availability. Contribute to modernisation strategies including cloud migration, microservices adoption and automation. Provide technical guidance and incident insights to senior stakeholders and business leaders. What you bring Minimum 5 years in IT operations or service reliability roles, ideally within large or complex environments. Strong experience in Incident and Problem Management with the ability to lead high-pressure service restoration efforts. Solid understanding of digital platforms, automation, observability and reliability principles. Proven ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders during time-critical situations. Hands-on experience analysing system performance, identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP. Scripting or automation skills (e.g., shell, Python, Puppet) are highly valued.
