Senior Platform Engineer - FinTech | AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes | Sydney (Hybrid) Location: Sydney, Australia (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office) Role Type: Full-time, Permanent Industry: FinTech About the Company Our client is a leading Australian FinTech who've built a bespoke lending platform leveraged by everyday Australians. They're continuing to invest heavily in engineering excellence and are now looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help shape the next generation of their internal developer platform. The Opportunity As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering a platform that empowers engineering teams to build, ship, and operate software efficiently and securely. You'll work across AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes to create scalable, automated, developer-centric solutions - and your software engineering background (ideally .NET) will allow you to deeply understand and support the needs of product teams. This is a hands-on role with significant influence over tooling, architecture, and future platform direction. What You'll Do Design, build, and evolve a self-service internal developer platform. Develop scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform (IaC). Build and operate resilient Kubernetes environments for multiple engineering teams. Collaborate with developers to improve reliability, performance, and deployment workflows. Champion automation, observability, and engineering best practices. Contribute code, tooling, and platform capabilities using your development background. Drive continuous improvement across CI/CD, operational excellence, and developer experience. What We're Looking For Strong experience in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Background as a software engineer (preferably with .NET/C# experience). Experience building or contributing to internal platforms, tooling, or DevOps frameworks. Solid understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and automation. Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar). Ability to partner closely with developers and influence best practices.
