The Role The Senior Officer, Child Safety Projects is responsible for providing day to day operational guidance and policy support for the early childhood education and care sector. The position will work closely with policy and regulatory systems teams to provide policy analysis and advice by responding to phone and email enquiries accurately and in a timely manner, as well as developing operational practice guidance. This position supports the Senior Project Lead, Child Safety Projects through coordinating and supporting work streams related to child safety, and by communicating effectively about processes and workflows. This role is full time and fixed-term (until 30 June 2026) at ACECQA Band 5 ($103,179 - $122,039). The key duties of the position include Key Accountabilities • Deliver complex operational policy advice and information to stakeholders via phone and email ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment with early childhood legislative and regulatory frameworks. • Interpret and communicate legislative requirements in plain English to diverse audiences to support compliance and decision-making. • Develop, prepare and maintain operation policy guidance and materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency with organisational standards and legislative obligations. • Oversee data collection and reporting (when required), and the development of tools, processes and systems to support provision of information to internal and external stakeholders. • Foster collaborative working relationships by sharing insights from enquiries and policy issues across business areas to contribute to the achievement of organisational goals. • Review and recommend refinements to operational practices to ensure continuous quality improvements within the team that enhance policy and project delivery. • Proactively manage and prioritise workflow to ensure that enquiries and policy responses meet required project and operational delivery timeframes.
