Baptcare is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Melbourne. You'll play a key role in building robust data solutions that support our mission to provide exceptional care and services to the community. About the Opportunity This full-time, eight-month fixed-term position is for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with deep Snowflake experience. You’ll design, build, and maintain modern data infrastructure that underpins analytics and evidence-based decision making across the organisation. Working alongside data scientists and analysts, you’ll manage and enhance our Snowflake environment, ensuring it remains secure, efficient, and scalable. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable end-to-end data pipelines in Snowflake , using dbt for data transformation and modelling Administer the Snowflake platform , including RBAC , user and role management, access control, and performance optimisation Develop and optimise data warehouses and data lakes hosted on AWS Establish and maintain data governance , quality , and security frameworks Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to deliver trusted, high-quality datasets for analytics and AI use cases Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and system performance Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the maturity of the data engineering capability What We’re Looking For Minimum 3 years of hands-on Snowflake experience , including administration, modelling, and query optimisation Strong proficiency in dbt , SQL , and Python Experience working in AWS environments (S3, Lambda, Glue preferred) Knowledge of Azure tools (ADF, Synapse) is a bonus Solid grasp of modern data warehousing , CI/CD, and version control (Git) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams Why Join Us You’ll take ownership of a mission-critical Snowflake environment, helping build the foundation for scalable analytics and emerging AI capabilities.
