Your Role Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victoria’s largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. Meminar Ngangg Gimba (MNG) is a service dedicated to supporting Aboriginal women and children impacted by family violence. An opportunity for an experienced Senior Case Manager MNG is now available within this dedicated team. As the Senior Case Manager MNG you will provide culturally safe, trauma informed case management, while offering leadership and mentoring to the team. You will coordinate supports across housing, legal, health and community services, and play a key role within the Intake and Assessment team, managing referrals, providing outreach and championing client safety, empowerment and cultural connection. This is a permanent, full time position based at our Mildura office location. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge of local family violence, housing/homelessness, legal, health, child protection system and community services within the region including knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF). Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully while advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their children who have been affected by family violence and in a manner sensitive to women’s diverse needs, lifestyles and cultural/linguistic backgrounds and a thorough knowledge of the Therapeutic framework. Strong administrative and time management skills including case notes, record keeping and reporting. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, submissions and other relevant documents. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal women and children using culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches. Qualification/s: A Tertiary level qualification (or preparedness to obtain a qualification as part of the role) in addition to previous, case management experience and relevant experience in a similar role is preferred. Other Screening Requirements: Valid Driver's License that allows you to drive in Australia. Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card. National Police Check.
