The APVMA's Agricultural Chemicals program is seeking applications for a Senior Administration Officer. This program manages the pre-market evaluation and registration of pesticides in Australia. Located in either Canberra ACT or regional Armidale NSW , you will gain experience in the Australian Public Service, have access to a variety of flexible working arrangements, and perform a variety of high-level administrative tasks. The Senior Administration Officer will be required to utilise personal judgement, analysis, and problem-solving skills to make well-informed recommendations to supervisors. Strong time management, prioritisation skills, organisational and communication skills are essential to this position. The range of tasks includes: client liaison, initial assessments of applications and the assessment of non-technical applications. Duties may also include managing incoming enquiries and additional information provided by applicants. The key duties of the position include Working in a fast-paced process driven area, and under limited direction, a Senior Administration Officer is responsible for performing a variety of administrative based functions in line with approved APVMA work practices including: Accurately entering application details and recording APVMA decisions in APVMA databases while maintaining appropriate agency records Assessing and deciding aspects of administrative (non-technical) applications and drafting correspondence and notices for their supervisors Building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, internal and external stakeholders to achieve the efficient and accurate processing of applications and enquiries Delivering sound advice and customer service in line with the APVMA's Service Charter, by telephone or written responses Ensuring adherence to legal requirements in the preparation and distribution of Product Notices, Decision Documents, Confidential Commercial Information provisions as well as other administrative documentation as required Applying good time management skills to complete tasks within set timeframes to meet internal, statutory and APVMA Service Charter timeframes, while displaying a proactive commitment to working towards meeting team goals and problem solving.
