As a SCADA Engineer you support the design, integration, and optimisation of SCADA systems that keep our power generation assets running efficiently and safely. You will provide technical advice and oversight of the remote SCADA platform including concept, design, construction, commission, monitoring and operation of the SCADA systems. This role sits within in our Power Services division which provides operations and maintenance services to over 30 power generation assets across Australia. Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects. What you’ll do Design, develop, and maintain SCADA systems for wind farms and power generation assets. Assist with SCADA asset plans, including RTUs, PLCs, communications, HMIs, alarms, and control systems. Support system integration during commissioning and ensure data acquisition/control via RTUs, PLCs, and IEDs. Analyse system data, trends, and performance to drive improvements and resolve technical issues. Ensure cybersecurity and compliance with relevant industry standards. Conduct risk assessments, develop maintenance strategies, and manage equipment databases. Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and provide technical support during outages or upgrades. Manage budgets for SCADA maintenance and asset programs. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards. Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and procurement. Support on-site activities during downtime by implementing solutions and driving continuous improvement to reduce future occurrences. What you’ll have Previous experience working with SCADA systems, ideally within an energy, utilities or industrial environment. Motivation to build your expertise in power generation with a particular interest in wind turbine and wind farm technologies. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. Formal Asset Management training and certification through AMC, WPiAM, and similar. Technical knowledge of SCADA systems and associated equipment, including RTUs, PLCs, communications infrastructure, remote access solutions, PMS, and other control systems. Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies such as fault tree analysis and 5-Why. An understanding of operational technology (OT) networks and cybersecurity principles relevant to industrial environments. The ability to analyse and interpret data to generate actionable insights. A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness and ability to travel to site locations and perform field investigations when required. A thorough understanding of relevant safety, environmental, and compliance regulations. Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Oracle EAM, SAP, Maximo, or similar.
