In this role, you'll be the City's go-to engineer for managing public road infrastructure - from assessing development impacts and advising on engineering solutions to handling permits and responding to community requests. You'll play a key part in planning, policy development, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, while providing professional guidance on road design and service levels. Role accountabilities include: Deliver expert engineering advice on road design and development projects. Manage permits for heavy vehicles, road openings, and construction works. Investigate and respond to public and stakeholder enquiries on road issues. Prepare reports and recommendations for Council on road infrastructure. Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve quality outcomes. Your technical expertise is matched by strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. You'll bring: A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and a current driver's licence. Proven experience in road engineering and infrastructure projects. A solid understanding of legislation and standards for local government roads. Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage confidently with diverse audiences. The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
