Role details The Child, Youth and Family Health at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Registered Nurse to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program delivers safe compassionate clinical care; working collaboratively with the Healthcare team to achieve best practice patient outcomes. The RN engages in reflective, analytical practice through effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct person-centred care. The RN continually improves their skills and knowledge developing from graduate to highly skilled Registered Nurse. About the Team The Child Youth and Family Health unit (CYFH) provides a primary health service model of care. The CYFH unit forms part of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service. The building is located at Carlyle Community Health Centre, Mackay and it is a fully refurbished, fit for purpose facility. The CYFH service incorporates both universal and targeted Child Health Services, School Based Youth Health Services, School Based Immunisation Program, Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program and Indigenous Health Service across the HHS district. The unit provides community-based Child Health Nursing for individuals (0-18yr), families and groups within the local community. About our Hospital and Health Service Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
