It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below. Operate independently with a high level of knowledge of intelligence practices and management of classified material. Resolve problems using expertise and complying with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks for information management requirements. What will you do? As Regional Deputy COMSO will provide a key role in the protection of classified information and assets. You will also use your contemporary intelligence and analysis skills to contribute to AFP investigations and operational activity. Duties include: Undertaking the role of Deputy Communications Intelligence Security Officer (DCOMSO). Providing briefings, refresher briefings and de-briefings on behalf of external agencies. Proactively plan, collect, collate and analyse information to produce and disseminate actionable intelligence. Maintain knowledge and understanding of the intelligence environment and relevant Commonwealth legislation. Develop and maintain site specific COMSO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support AFP COMSO in conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Prepare and provide information and intelligence briefings to AFP business areas and AFP executive. Investigate security incidents referred to the COMSO Team as the Security Incident Report Officer (SIRO). Working closely with investigations and intelligence teams, provide advice on security implications to support AFP and partner agency operational activity. Liaise with relevant AFP business areas and external agencies on matters relevant to security. Provide travel briefings. Manage tenant agency requirements, including liaising with relevant external agencies.
