The key duties of the position include The Role The APS 5 Psychology Assistant is responsible for all aspects of office administration in a busy psychology service. They will be the key point of contact for external enquiries, and responsible for managing appointment workflows, record keeping, and psychological test administration. Key duties: Coordinate and perform practice management and administration duties, including client liaison, appointment scheduling, and records management. Administer, mark and record results of psychological and aptitudes tests and arrange the preparation of test materials and venues. Collate and conduct research activities including data management to support and advise the Senior Psychologist. Demonstrate and apply an understanding of client confidentiality requirements in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures. Tailor communication style and approach to meet the requirements of ADF personnel in a service environment. Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member of a small team. Evaluate self-referred clients' requirements to provide appropriate services. Deliver basic psychoeducation presentations. About our Team The Navy Psychology East section is located at HMAS Kuttabul (Potts Point) on the beautiful Sydney Harbour close to the CBD and Royal Botanic Garden. Our team consists of a Senior Psychologist, two APS 6 Psychologists, uniformed Navy Psychologists, and a Psychology Assistant. The team works together to achieve a high standard of psychology service provision, liaising regularly with command elements, health providers and other wellbeing stakeholders. The section provides the full scope of Navy Psychology Services to Navy Fleet Units and the Garrison Shore Establishments in the Sydney area. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced medical administrator. Experience in a psychology clinic or similar health environment is desirable, but not essential. Key attributes: Ability to perform and achieve complex administrative tasks and activities under limited direction of the Senior Psychologist. A detail oriented and organised professional, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to develop and maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislative and policy frameworks, and how they apply to Navy Psychology. An exceptional communicator who is comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders. Willing to learn and deliver basic psychoeducation training presentations. An adaptable team player with a focus on building strong relationships.
