About the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. We work to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system. As the single independent regulator of Australian Government aged care services, we offer a variety of interesting and challenging jobs across most capital cities. Meet some of our people and learn more about the Commission and our Regulatory Strategy on our website www.agedcarequality.gov.au About the Team Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) The EPMO serves as a centralised portfolio, program and project hub promoting best practices to create efficiencies and streamline processes to improve effectives in realising of benefits, in line with the Commission's strategic objectives. The EPMO is comprised of four service areas: Governance : Development and maintenance of Program, Project and Change Governance and management of templates, frameworks, artefacts, tools, reporting and forums. Change, Communications & Learning: Provides visibility of enterprise changes and uplifting program/project change management skills within the Commission. The team is also involved in developing EPMO communication content and learning products to increase adoption and knowledge of project and change management practices within the Commission. Project Assurance & Benefits Management: The project assurance functions ensures that project are delivered effectively, aligned with the Commission's governance expectations. It provides assurance education and support to projects whilst providing independent oversight and assesses the project health status. The assurance team is responsible for reviewing projects as they progress through the different stages in the project lifecycle and communicating health check outcomes with key stakeholders, contributing to continuous improvements in project and change management. Benefits Management focuses on tracking and monitoring realisation of intended value of projects. It ensures that benefits are clearly defined, measured and aligned with the Commission's strategic objectives. Resourcing: Coordinate and ensures sufficient availability and allocation of project resources based on skills required as well as maintaining a consistent approach to program/project contract management. About the Role The Project Assurance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that programs/projects meet defined project requirements based on the Commission's expectations and regulatory requirements (if any). This role will involve engaging with programs/projects to communicate project assurance requirements, educating stakeholders on best practices within the Commission and providing executive oversight of overall compliance consistency. The Project Assurance Office will work with the Assurance and Benefits Assistant Director and act as a conduit to provide feedback between Project Managers and the EPMO, supporting continuous improvement in project delivery practices. The key duties of the position include Support project teams in meeting reporting and documentation requirements Plan and conduct project assurance health checks, including the assessment of project scope, deliverables, dependencies, schedule, risks, benefits and resources Analyse, monitor and record project health check outcomes for assurance reporting Collaborate with project stakeholders to promote EPMO's assurance practices Identify assurance development needs and provide support training, where relevant Communicate assurance findings and recommendations to executives Provide day-to-day support and management of the project assurance as well as benefits management function Build strong relationships and effective communications with key internal and external stakeholders
