Job Description Your New Role The Project Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial accounting and reporting across projects and divisions. The role ensures that project-level financial processes – including month-end close, general ledger reconciliations and financial forecasting are contemporary, accurate and compliant with organisational and statutory accounting policies. Core Accountabilities: Maintain processes to complete all project financial forecasts including Profit and Loss, Cashflow and Balance Sheet accounts as timetabled. Responsible for month end project accounting processes for projects and divisions, ensuring relevant outputs are accurate and provided in accordance with month end timetables and standard operating procedures. Coordinate monthly result reviews with Commercial Managers to ensure commentary and reports are timely, accurate and relevant. Assist to provide insights, financial analysis, and uplift financial capability across the project delivery teams. Desired Skills and Experience About You Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA/CA qualified or studying towards qualifications is desirable. Experience in accounting or construction assets. Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in a finance/commercial environment Understanding of project accounting methods such as percentage-of-completion, accruals and capitalization methods. Knowledge of statutory reporting, taxation and compliance requirements in relation to construction projects. Understanding of variance analysis and financial performance monitoring.
