Come join Population Health Division as a Program Officer where you will contribute to a program of work that builds the capacity of health professionals to deliver evidence-based tobacco smoking and vaping cessation services for First Nations community members within the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. Your key responsibilities: * Undertake project activities related to the planning, strategy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of preventive health services and programs and policy, targeting tobacco smoking and vaping cessation within First Nations communities located in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. * Undertake effective stakeholder engagement, partnership development and collaborative arrangements with internal and external stakeholders including community-based organisations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations, Primary Health Network, and Public Health Units within communities located in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. * Support the delivery of a program of work that builds the capacity of health professionals to deliver evidenced-based tobacco smoking and vaping cessation services for First Nations community members within the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. Role fit The essential requirements for this role are: * Project managements skills, including the design of complex prevention projects with the ability to achieve successful project outcomes. * Community engagement skills, including working with First Nations people living in regional and remote locations, to address priority health issues. * Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement solutions to complex health issues.
