Description Lead the Future of Data Migration – Principal Tech Lead (Informatica) UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation program, focused on delivering “one best way” to simplify processes, systems, and technology. Join our Unite Data Engineering Team as a Principal Tech Lead and take charge of building a Data Migration as a Service (DMaaS) capability that powers one of the most transformative programs in our organization. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex migrations, shape scalable and secure solutions, and work with passionate engineers on a multi-year journey to modernize our core customer technology stack. Key Responsibilities Design and build a Data Migration as a Service (DMaaS) capability to support multiple Unite Program projects. Lead the development of robust ETL/ETLR solutions using Informatica, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. Create a framework to support common NFRs, functionality, and reusability. Provide technical guidance and mentorship, and establish governance, processes, and standards. Continuously improve development workflows and tools to enhance efficiency. Offer expert advice on technical issues and best practices. Plan and lead DMaaS through development, testing, dress rehearsals, and production migrations. Ensure adherence to Westpac standards and regulatory obligations. What do I need? Degree in Computer Science (or related field) with strong expertise in data integration, migration and modeling. Technical Skills : Deep knowledge of Informatica (IICS preferred) and ETL/ETLR solutions. Familiarity with DevOps, APIs, scripting, and solution architecture/design. Knowledge of Teradata, Data Lakes, databases, and streaming technologies (Kafka). Understanding of modern data processing and emerging tech (AI conversant). Leadership & Soft Skills : Proven team leadership and mentorship experience. Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to drive governance, standards and future-focused solutions. Why join us?
