About the role: The Principal Solution Architect is part of the Communities and Families Portfolio, which is responsible for leading the development and implementation of various solutions and initiatives within the program. The Principal Solution Architect is responsible for assessing technology platforms and designs application and reporting architecture based on business, functional and non-functional requirements, this includes defining the interaction between application packages, databases and middleware systems in terms of functional and non-functional coverage. The role provides strategic guidance across the portfolio, offering architectural advice on application and reporting solutions, industry trends, and options analysis to maximise value and efficiency. The role also leads and mentor's teams across the Enterprise Technology Branch in disciplines such as application innovation, analytics, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, robotic processing automation, cloud services etc, ensuing quality and consistency of application architecture across the department while adhering to enterprise architecture guideline setup across the department and Victorian government. About you: Can you demonstrate the following? * Provide analysis, design, technical options, best practice usage, and performance optimisation relating to multiple technical disciplines, including application implementation and reporting & analytics with key focus on Oracle Peoplesoft platform. * Contribute advanced expertise and knowledge to benefit strategic planning and organisation/sector-wide outcomes. * Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services. * Extend the department's ability and awareness in modern tools and technology, show-casing the art-of-the-possible on new innovative ideas and educating others on industry trends and best practices. This includes the department's ability to access and utilise its data, leading to improved data driven decision making. Where possible enable the user community to self-serve access to the information required through modern tools and techniques. * Provide input to the thought leadership required to deliver strategic initiatives including the design of application and reporting & analytics platforms and to reduce the proliferation of individual systems. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications * A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role. * Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable. * Certification in ITIL methodology highly desirable. * Agile project experience will be advantageous.
