Position Information We have 2 students enrolled in distance education through Bourke Walgett School of Distance Education (BWSODE) and are looking for a teacher to start the new school year in 2026 as educator to deliver their distance education program. Our schoolroom is located within our private residence on our property 70km west of Walgett. The students will be moving into Years 4 & 5 in 2026. BWSODE is a NSW Public School with centres located in Walgett and Bourke. Students attend Integration Days with fellow students twice a term. All other learning is based at home and via online lessons. We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria: Hold relevant tertiary qualifications to teach Primary School (K-6) Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, evidence informed and differentiated literacy and numeracy programs set by the BWSODE teacher. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and building positive relationships with students, staff parents and the wider school community. Excellent punctuality and adaptability Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school including attending school camps and events as required. Capacity to create safe and supportive learning environments for students while and enriching student learning through a range of extracurricular opportunities. We are ideally looking for someone who can commit to a minimum 1 year employment contract to ensure the continuity of learning for our kids. Tasks Involve: Teaching literacy, numeracy, social science, creative expression and physical education skills to primary school students. Presenting prescribed curriculum using a range of teaching techniques and materials Developing students' interests, abilities and coordination by way of creative activities Guiding discussions and supervising work in class Preparing, administering and making tests, projects and assignments to evaluate students’ progress and recording the results. Discussing individual progress and problems with students and parents, and seeking advice from Student Counsellors and senior teachers. Maintaining discipline in classrooms and other school areas Participating in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops Liaising with parent, community and business groups Performing extra-curricular tasks such as assisting with sport, school concerts, excursions.
