Job Title: Platform Specialist / Cloud Engineer Location: Sydney Experience: 5–13 years Employment Type: Contract Role Overview The Platform Specialist / Cloud Engineer will design, build, and configure Azure-based environments and landing zones to support application deployment and operational readiness. The role requires deep technical expertise in Azure IaaS and PaaS services, infrastructure automation, and secure cloud architecture. You will ensure that all platform solutions align with enterprise architectural, cyber, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and configure Azure landing zones and environments to support scalable and secure application hosting. Implement IaaS and PaaS provisioning , including compute, storage, network, and identity integration with Azure Active Directory (AAD) . Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform or Bicep to automate environment deployment and configuration. Integrate and enable CI/CD pipelines for automated environment provisioning and release management. Ensure compliance with security, governance, and architectural frameworks defined by the organization. Support connectivity, monitoring, and identity integration between cloud and on-premises systems. Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, and application delivery teams to ensure environment readiness and operational excellence. Troubleshoot and optimize Azure environments for performance, cost efficiency, and resilience. Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of platform engineering practices. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in Azure infrastructure engineering and cloud environment management . Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security controls . Hands-on expertise in Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure automation. Familiarity with Azure DevOps , CI/CD pipeline integration , and infrastructure lifecycle management . Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles , cybersecurity frameworks , and cloud governance . Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools within Azure. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Azure certifications such as AZ-104 (Administrator Associate) , AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert) , or AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) . Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premise to cloud integration . Familiarity with Transport or public sector architectures is advantageous.
