The APS6 Physical Security Manager at the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety, rights, and quality of life of people with disability. As the APS6 Physical Security Manager, you will exercise a high degree of autonomy and accountability while delivering complex work that supports the Commission's regulatory, policy, and service-improvement functions. You will be responsible for managing moderately complex to complex projects or work programs, providing high-level advice, and supporting decision-making that contributes directly to safeguarding participants and improving provider performance. The role requires strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The key duties of the position include In this position, you may lead small teams or specialist workstreams, ensuring quality outcomes and compliance with legislation, policies, and operational priorities. You will be expected to model the APS Values and Code of Conduct, promote a culture of integrity and respect, and support continuous improvement across your area of responsibility. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: leading a small team delivering national security and management services, including: access control security access pass and key management security related infrastructure repairs emergency management security incident management and investigations Provide high quality physical security advice in accordance with Government standards, policy and procedures Support security risk management services and conduct technical activities in support of security outcomes, including: security threat, vulnerability and risk assessments physical security audits maintaining, reviewing and revising Physical Security Policies, Procedures and Plans conducting relevant Security Inquiries and Audits and preparing reports on security activities Assist with the resource management of the Protective Security team Develop and maintain key customer and stakeholder relationships, including liaison with external agencies Drafting communications including security notices, briefs and reports, as well as supporting Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) security awareness activities Assist with all PSPF related maturity planning and implementation activities to support the NDIS Commission in having a strong protective security culture.
