Job Description: Role Title: Pharmacist Team Lead – Heart and Lung Role Type: Permanent full-time Role Grade: Level 3 Department and Location: Pharmacy, St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst Salary: $131,830 - $135,397 p.a. About the Role: Lead and coordinate comprehensive pharmacy services across the Heart and Lung Stream, encompassing Heart and Lung Transplantation, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, and Thoracic Medicine, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient care. Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and training to pharmacists, interns, and technicians within the team, fostering professional development, clinical excellence, and a collaborative team culture. Serve as the primary point of contact for the Heart and Lung pharmacy team, collaborating with the Deputy Director of Pharmacy (Operations Manager) to manage operational priorities, disseminate information, and coordinate leave and workforce planning. Maintain advanced clinical pharmacy competency through active participation in clinical and dispensary services, ward meetings, and interdisciplinary activities to support optimal patient outcomes. Lead and contribute to the planning, development, and continuous quality improvement of pharmacy services, including research, policy and procedure development, and participation in Clinical Governance and Patient Safety initiatives. Work collaboratively with other Team Leader and Lead Pharmacist positions to deliver on the strategic, clinical, and operational objectives of the Pharmacy Department, including participation in weekend, public holiday, and on-call rosters as required. About You: AHPRA-registered Pharmacist with no restrictions on practice, and willing to contribute to weekend and on-call rosters as part of a dynamic hospital team. Proven expertise in providing pharmacy services to complex clinical settings, in particular cardiology, respiratory, critical care, and/or transplant patients, as well as demonstrated ability to provide leadership within Pharmacy team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience in developing guidelines, educational programs and service reports Possess effective interpersonal skills, including negotiation with key stakeholders, conflict resolution, provide mentorship and fostering a positive work culture. Demonstrated skills and experience in time management, problem solving and delivering quality improvement initiatives. Why work at St Vincent’s?
