This role blends team management, innovation, and technical expertise across paid search and audience data . You’ll guide a high‑performing team, shape strategic direction, and drive experimentation across search and other digital channels. Based in Melbourne, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse FMCG client patch, lead a talented team, and deliver impactful work in a collaborative, future‑focused environment. You will be a deep Search subject matter expert with curiosity of the evolving AI landscape. You’ll use your strong knowledge of data strategy and 1st, 2nd & 3rd party audiences to drive outcomes and lead and inspire your team whilst building trust and a strong partnership with your clients. What you’ll do with us This role is designed to deliver across three core pillars: Shape the Future of Search: Lead the strategic vision for paid search, driving innovation and exploring AI‑powered opportunities. You’ll be the go‑to Search strategy and Data expert, influencing best practices and ensuring flawless execution through collaboration with global teams. Champion Data‑Driven Marketing: Own the conversation on audience strategy and data activation. Design test‑and‑learn frameworks, unlock insights from first‑party data, and push boundaries to deliver smarter, more impactful campaigns. Inspire and Lead a High‑Performing Team: Mentor and empower a talented digital team, fostering curiosity and collaboration. Set the standard for excellence while creating an environment where ideas thrive and careers grow. Key Responsibilities Lead Paid Search Strategy: Own the strategic direction of paid search, guiding maturity and innovation across platforms. Collaborate with regional hubs to ensure seamless activation and performance. Drive Data Strategy: Lead audience‑first thinking across campaigns, leveraging first‑, second-, and third‑party data to build test‑and‑learn frameworks and drive measurable outcomes. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Managers and Executives, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Confidently lead strategic conversations with internal and external stakeholders, translating insights into actionable plans. Cross‑Channel Collaboration: Work closely with planning, media, and tech teams to ensure integrated and purpose‑led media solutions. Project Ownership: Lead varied initiatives including audience targeting experiments, performance uplift evaluations, and process optimisation with offshore hubs. What you will bring 6 years’ experience driving paid search campaigns and strategy with strong exposure to data strategy and audience segmentation, ideally within a media agency. A natural leader who thrives in multi‑faceted environments, with a passion for mentoring and team development. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and guide both internal teams and clients. Experience working with DMPs, CDPs, and tools like BigQuery is a plus. A curious mindset, excited by innovation and the evolving AI landscape in media. Comfortable navigating complex processes and driving optimisation across teams and platforms. Strong and wholistic understanding of digital media planning, forecasting, and presenting recommendations. In‑platform activation experience across biddable channels. Solid foundation in AdOps, including trafficking, taxonomy, and campaign setup. Excellent exposure to audience targeting and data strategy. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management. Highly organised, with a knack for managing multiple workflows and keeping the team on track. Collaborative mindset with a passion for process improvement, innovation, and team development.
