Based in Portland, Victoria Relocation Assistance Available Join a Supportive, Collaborative Team Culture UGL’s Fuels and Energy East business is seeking an experienced and safety-driven Mechanical Superintendent to lead our mechanical maintenance and project delivery team. This is a key leadership position ensuring the reliability, integrity, and performance of all mechanical assets across the site. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. Partner with engineering, operations, and HSE teams to optimise plant performance and support capital projects. Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for rotating equipment, piping systems, and associated infrastructure. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, site standards, and industry best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and minimise downtime. Manage budgets, procurement, and contractor performance within the mechanical scope. Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all work aligns with HSE policies. About You Trade or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience in a superintendent or senior supervisory role within heavy industry—smelting, oil & gas, mining, or processing preferred. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and maintenance strategies. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
