About us We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Night Shift Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team in Tullamarine . You will be responsible for the mechanical upkeep, preventative maintenance, and rapid repair of our high-speed warehousing and sortation infrastructure. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, technical precision, and an unwavering commitment to safety during non-operational hours Key Responsibilities: Safety and Compliance (WH&S) Maintain a sound understanding and strict adherence to all Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) processes and site procedures. Mandatory application of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for all maintenance and repair activities to isolate and control hazardous energy. Safely execute tasks involving Working at Heights, ensuring correct use of fall protection and elevated work platforms (EWP). Maintenance and Repair Maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical assets, including belt, roller, and gravity conveyors, automated sortation systems (e.g., cross-belt, shoe sorters), and other warehousing equipment. Execute Preventative Maintenance (PMs) tasks as scheduled within the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), ensuring all actions are accurately recorded. Identify, diagnose, and report complex mechanical faults and proactively recommend permanent corrective actions. Carry out precision repairs, replacement of failed components (e.g., bearings, gearboxes, motors, pneumatics), and alignment checks. Assist with operational faults and breakdowns during the night shift, troubleshooting quickly to minimise system downtime. Teamwork and Communication Work collaboratively as part of a maintenance team, effectively communicating shift handovers, parts requirements, and outstanding issues to colleagues. Prioritise maintenance tasks based on operational risk and CMMS scheduling. Current EWP (Elevated Work Platform) operator certificate.
