Mechanical Fitter Our client is a leading provider of engineering solutions for the marine, mining, mineral processing, water, and oil & gas industries. They are seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters for local projects, with immediate starts available for multiple suitable candidates. This is temp to perm locally-based role offering an excellent work-life balance. You will be doing mechanical maintenance services within the naval/commercial ship repair and industrial sectors in a safe and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs, including gearboxes, pumps, valves, heat exchanges, conveyor components, compressors, diesel engines, and bearings. Execute site and workshop-based duties safely and effectively. Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate action. Meet targets in safety, environment, quality, and production to ensure project viability. Requirements: Minimum 3 years post-trade experience. Mechanical trade certification. Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening. Current Driver's License. Capacity to obtain military facility access and provide a clean police clearance. Availability for mid-week and weekend overtime at short notice. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in naval and commercial ship repairs. Rigger/Dogging certification. Forklift ticket. Confined Space and Working at Heights certification. Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification. Benefits: 52.50ph Plus opportunities for overtime Day shift hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with potential for overtime.
